Marecho and I courted first. Having never met in person, and
being 8,900 miles apart, it sounded somewhat insane!
Fortunately we serve a big God in a small world. Marecho graduates from college
in October of 2005.
It won't be too long to wait if it is right and of God.
*Courting is the traditional process of courtship, rather than dating. The couple expresses a desire to seriously consider marriage and get to know each other in a semi-controlled environment composed of meeting in public places, having chaperones, and avoiding circumstances that offer opportunities for physical distractions and intimacy. It is an exclusive relationship that is centered around God and ends in marriage with parental permission. Divorce is illegal in the Philippines. Finding a traditional, marriage-minded woman there is often much easier than stateside. It is not uncommon to find beautiful virgins in their late twenties or thirties still living at home with their parents! Traditional Christian values are a part of daily living in the Philippine Islands. These are a hard working, loving, family-oriented people.
